Happy New Year and Thank You for a Wonderful Year!
Dear ChunJiDo Family, As 2011 comes to an end, Sensei Cutrell and I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of our ChunJiDo Family and we want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! This has been an amazing year full of new accomplishments for all of us, new friendships that will now last a lifetime, and challenges that we all have met and overcome. 2011 was a year that saw the ChunJiDo organization celebrate successes in every corner of the world. Our strength as an organization is sustained through the support and commitment of every individual member. As we reflect on the year I also want to give our respects to one or our great leaders who passed this year, Grandmaster Carlo Luciano Foralosso of Italy. Grandmaster Foralosso will live on forever in the hearts and teachings of the many great Masters of Italy who have the honor of carrying on his legacy. God bless our ChunJiDo Italy Delegation and be assured you have the prayers and support of your ChunJiDo Family as you grieve for this great loss and also bring the highest respects to the life of Grandmaster Foralosso as you continue his teachings. As we look to the New Year I am sure there will be apprehensions on what the year will bring, but also realize that every new day is a day that you have been blessed with to develop new friendships, share the arts, and face challenges that will make you stronger. So I encourage each of you to live each day of this new year to its fullest. Take every opportunity to LOVE, LIVE, and LAUGH with your heart and soul. Hold on to precious memories and allow yourself the freedom to develop new ones every day of your life. Again, I want to thank everyone in the ChunJiDo Family for your continued friendship, support, and commitment. As most of you know, I love quotes, and would like to close with this quote, I think it says it all... *"What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories." ~George Eliot* *God Bless You All, and Happy New Year!* ~Grandmaster Robert Cutrell and Sensei Nancy Cutrell

The Passing of Grandmaster Carlo Luciano Foralosso, the Legend of Martial Arts in Italy
It is with deep sadness and regret that I share the news of the passing of one of our ChunJiDo International affiliates, Grandmaster Carlo Luciano Foralosso of Italy. Grandmaster Foralosso , one of the most prominent Grandmasters of Italy, touched the lives of many martial artists. I never had the honor of meeting Grandmaster Foralosso, but I know how much he influenced the arts of Italy and taught many of the Italian Masters of today. I am sure Grandmaster Foralosso will be missed, but the legacy this legend of Italy leaves behind will live on forever. I would like to express my deep sorrow for all of the other great Masters for their loss with the passing of Grandmaster Faralosso. God bless you all my Brothers, you are in our thoughts and prayers. ChunJiDo Black Belts Awarded Sensei Title
Dear ChunJiDo Family, As some of you may know, it has been my practice in the past to award the Sensei ("Teacher", "Elder", "One Who Came Before") title automatically at the 3rd Dan level in ChunJiDo. I most recently have stopped this practice, and will be awarding and using this title for only those who truly embrace the art and show the commitment to further the philosophy of the arts and specifically the art of ChunJiDo. I have realized that some only have the desire to be called Sensei, but do not understand the true meaning of being a Teacher, while others have definitely given back to the art and have embraced how wonderful an experience it is to be a Sensei in spite of the challenges, responsibility, and commitment necessary to live up to the title. I have seen this commitment in all of the instructors who continue to assist in teaching classes here in Evansville, and most recently, in Sensei Schapp who dedicated himself to furthering his knowledge in the arts by becoming a Black Belt in ChunJiDo, and continues to display the highest standards as a Sensei with all he is doing in the martial arts community. I am one who hopes to always recognize hard work and reward commitment and dedication, so with great pride and distinction I announce, Eric Minar, of Minar's ChunJiDo Academy Puyallup, Washington and Will Mattingly, of Mattingly’s ChunJiDo Academy Franklin, Tennessee will be joining the ranks of Sensei and will be awarded this title immediately. Both of these gentlemen have shown over a decade of commitment to the art of ChunJiDo and continue to demonstration the dedication and desire to share the martial arts with others. Please join me in congratulating both Sensei Eric Minar and Sensei Will Mattingly in this wonderful presentation, and I know as always, they can be assured of the continued support and respect from all of you who make up this extraordinary ChunJiDo Family and share in their love for the arts! God's blessings, Grandmaster Robert Cutrell Soke/Founder ChunJiDo

4th Annual, "I Kicked For a Cause" Terry D. Turner Memorial Kick-a-thon
t is truly amazing how individuals can come together and demonstrate extraordinary human spirit to support a great cause. This was never more evident than this last weekend August 13, 2011 at the 4th Annual Terry D. Turner, “I Kicked For a Cause” Memorial Kick-a-thon. This event has raised over $15,000 for various charities over the previous three years. Students, parents, organizers, and those who donated stepped up again this year in grand fashion to present another very successful event! Donations included, Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans tickets, Seattle Mariner tickets, autographed sports memorabilia, artwork by an incredible local artist Robin Lawrence, restaurant donations, certificates for area golf courses, recreation equipment, jewelry, electronic equipment, and St. Louis Cardinals tickets just to name a few. We had over two hundred items to auction and raffle off. Also, for the first time ever, our Washington State Director, Eric Minar and our ChunJiDo Students at the Mel Korum YMCA in Puyallup, Washington partipated and had a very successful first Kick-a-thon and, together with the Evansville ChunJiDo Academy in Evansville, Indiana, were able to raise funds to benefit the Hemophilia Foundation, the Shriner’s Transport Services, and the YMCA Strong Kids program. It was simply amazing to see the ChunJiDo Family across the US come together for such a great cause! Our deepest appreciation to everyone for your tremendous demonstration of compassion and unity in our efforts to support these charities. Without the efforts from our incredible ChunJiDo Family this successful event could not have been possible! God bless you all, Grandmaster Robert and Sensei Nancy Cutrell
